Listener Faves, Part I

(aired 5/7/10)

Lately I’ve felt a curiosity to explore listeners’ answers to the following questions:

  1. What is your all-time favorite song (or at least one of them), and why does it have significance for you?
  2. What’s your latest pick — a song that has been going through your head recently? Why do you like it?

I was able to get a great range of different responses from people, interviewing and recording their answers to play on the air. Today I featured 4 of them, in addition to my own current picks. I thought I would have time for more, but time flew. The next few shows will probably feature this theme, since I want to share other responses to you as well. Please contact me with your choices!

Below is the lineup for what we heard today…

My top fave:
This Must Be The Place (Naive Melody) – Talking Heads

Trevor Thomas:
Return To Innocence – Enigma
1901 – Phoenix

Jim Malachi:
Hejira – Joni Mitchell
How Do You Keep The Music Playing (live, 2008) – Patti Austin

Officer – Slightly Stoopid
You’ve Got The Love – Florence And The Machine

Indestructible – Disturbed
Poker Face – Lady Gaga

My latest pick:
Thank You Mom – Good Charlotte
