(aired 10/29/10)black
Although orange is certainly the main color of Halloween, the other complimentary hue is black. So today’s show is in celebration of this tone — and all its various meanings.

So far Maya’s Mix has explored other colors as well:   blue (August ’10), green (March ’10), red (December ’09) and gold/silver (August ’09). Now we can celebrate the irony of a color that is also considered achromatic, as it is technically hueless.

Turn off the lights and get ready to enjoy this Black Friday!

Do you like Rapid Eye Movement as much as me? Today’s show is dedicated to dreams. It’s the second chapter of a similar theme started at the beginning of this year, when we focused on songs with Sleep in the titles/lyrics.

During some periods of my life I recorded my dreams when I woke up every morning (and in my college days I posted all the tales on my student webpage). When I got in the habit of recalling them, the details got rich and the stories were long.

There have been many songs with “dream” in the title or lyrics over the years. For this theme I got a total of 57 song suggestions from you listeners! It was a challenging but rewarding process to narrow it down to today’s playlist. May you fully enjoy this dream!
