States

Geography Part 1: States

USA My first idea was to use a general theme of geographic locations. Ha! After getting such a huge volume of suggestions, I realized that there are way too many choices to do one show on such a broad topic. So today was the first segment of the “places” theme, and I chose to concentrate on states here in our country. Although an hour doesn’t give quite enough time to highlight the full gamut, I was at least able to play a number of great songs. And I can tell you that all 50 states were at least briefly acknowledged (thanks to Fifty Nifty United States’ lyrics!). Ready for a trip across the good ole USA? Let’s go…

  1. Portland, Oregon – Loretta Lynn with Jack White [suggested by Claire Robbins]
  2. California Stars – Billy Bragg & Wilco
  3. Tennessee – Arrested Development
