The Rhyme of Corporate “Capitol” Crime (more of that bankster rap)

We ripped you off, we stripped you clean,
A house of cards built on greed.
A bankrupt nation, a bankrupt creed,
 poverty of insatiable need
 to prop up banksters,
 to prop up thieves,
 with bailouts rewarding failure.

They call it TARP, they said it’d work
a legislative package, a circle jerk.
 Throwing parties, flaunting perks
bonuses and raises for young Turks.
 Yearning wolves on the make
for all the people they could take
 along just for the ride.

No moral sense, no moral code,
Doing whatever keeps you on the road.
 Cleaning house, avoiding jail,
above the law or being nailed,
for new crimes certain, scams of old
shaking em down until your told:
 “There’s nothing left to steal.”

A financial Tsunami, a giant mess,
the rich get richer, the poor get less.
An age old pattern going down
when “something for nothing” comes to town
to take what’s precious, destroy what left
 leaving hands empty, hearts bereft.
Now truth’s in the open, anguished lives broken.
