Debbie is barganing chair of their union with includes teachers and support staff (400 employees). They have been struggling for a new contract for almost a year. Debbie discusses some of the issues of that stuggle.

Bend Area Transit bus driver Russ Evans was fired by Paratransit Services, the out-of-state contractor that runs Bend’s transit operation, just a month after testifying in support of the Oregon AFL-CIO’s Restoring the Freedom to Organize bills, and nine days after he asked the Bend City Council to urge Paratransit to recognize the union that a majority of BAT employees voted for in January.
