KSKQ's Mission is to empower our local community through inclusive programming that frames our own issues, creates our own media and advances understanding and social change through dialogue.

  1. Isn't that what JPR is?

No, Jefferson Public Radio is part of the National Public Radio network. It has it's studios at Southern Oregon University. KSKQ will be an independent community radio station with at least 12 hours of local programming a day.

  1. Will it be politically based?

No, the station, itself, will be non-partisan, community radio, with an emphasis on hearing all the voices. Some of those voices will undoubtably be political. It will depend on the interests of the people who want to create radio. Anyone can be a part.

Yes. Our tower will be near Emigrant Lake and must be up by June, 2006. Our goal is to reach the whole Rogue Valley shortly after.
