Folk You Need to Know
( 5 Articles )
“Folk you Need to Know” with David Christian, local community organizer and singer/songwriter. The one place on your local dial where you’ll hear the famous and the obscure; local and national songwriters and singers who have not always been commercial enough or big enough to garner a lot of airplay on what David likes to refer to as “Corporate Radio”.
You will hear what David calls neo-traditional country, Americana, folk and blues. There is music and commentary about and from some of his favorite (and hopefully to be yours too) singer/songwriters such as Billy Joe Shaver, Joe Ely, Butch Hancock, Bill Staines, Bill Morrissey, Tom Russell, Utah Phillips, Jim Ringer, John Prine, Guy Clark, Townes Van Zandt, Steve Earle, k.d. lang, Ramblin' Jack Elliot, Ian Tyson, James McMurtry, Bob Dylan, and many more.
Tuesdays from 4:00 - 5:00 pm.
