Wonderful World of Women
Mao Zedong once said that women hold up half the sky. We all know that, deep down. But that insight is often forgotten. So there can never be enough reminders. KSKQ is fortunate to have added such a reminder to its regular program schedule. Wonderful World of Women presented by Lavelle Foos premiered four weeks ago. WWW presents women's insights and wisdom on all kinds of questions. How do we age gracefully? How can we realize our vision? What's life like for female musicians on the road? KSKQ broadcasts her conversations every Wednesday at 11 am. Lavelle invites women from all walks of life and helps spread their wisdom.
Lavelle is no stranger to Ashland and the Rogue Valley. She first came to Ashland half a lifetime ago. From 1971 'til 2004, she was part of Ashland. Educator, artist, musician and grassroots organizer, Lavelle lives a full life. Check out her sculptures and native American flute CD on her website. She left Ashland in 2004 but couldn't stay away for too long. In October 2012, she returned to a much busier town. But, to her, it's a good busy, "a quality bee hive of life."
Tune in to the Wonderful World of Women every Wednesday at 11am.

Your Brain in the Cybersex Jungle
Is the Web stealing your mojo?
Tune into "Your Brain in the Cybersex Jungle" to find out how this can happen. Host Gary Wilson addresses your questions, reviews the latest news and research on Internet addiction, and discusses what the science means for today's cyber junkies.
Whether it's Internet erotica, Facebook, or videogames, constant stimulation at a click is new to mankind. Many brains are finding it too much to handle. Gary focuses on the evolutionary and neurochemical aspects of this challenge, with attention to the unique vulnerability of adolescent brains.
Gary taught physiology for two decades, with a particular interest in the latest neuroscience discoveries. In addition to producing "Your Brain in the Cybersex Jungle" he hosts www.yourbrainonporn.com. The site arose in response to a growing demand for information by heavy Internet erotica users experiencing perplexing, unexpected effects: escalation to more extreme material, concentration and motivation difficulties, sexual performance problems, radical changes in sexual tastes, uncharacteristic social anxiety, brain fog and irritability, as well as withdrawal symptoms, trouble stopping, and worsening obsessive-compulsive symptoms.
Applying the website's concepts of brain plasticity, many former users have braved withdrawal and reversed their symptoms. Online forums from over 40 countries have linked to the site, with posts numbering in the thousands. Gary also blogs for "Psychology Today" and recently gave a TEDx talk entitled "The Great Porn Experiment."
While the show is relevant for all Internet junkies, Gary particularly welcomes questions from heavy users of Internet pornography. It can be difficult for them to get reliable scientific information about their experiences.
